REGION Santa Barbara County enjoys a long growing season, perfect for the development of concentrated and balanced fruit. The coastal climate is key – it is just warm enough that the fruit fully ripens, yet not too hot that vegetal undertones appear. The well-draining sandstone and limestone soils consistently produce small berries that are richly concentrated. The majority of the fruit for this wine was sourced from hillside vineyards in the cooler end of the North Canyon.

WINEMAKING After a gentle destemming process, the whole berries were fermented in stainless-steel, open-top tanks and punched down daily. A portion of the wine gained complexity with time in French oak. The remainder of the blend was aged in stainless steel to preserve the fresh fruit flavors and maintain a good acid structure to the finished wine.

TASTING NOTES Vivid aromas of fresh strawberry and ripe red cherry supported by sweet clove and forest floor notes. The palate is juicy with bright flavors that mirror the nose. The well balanced, lively acidity that is a hallmark of Pinot Noirs from Santa Barbara makes it an ideal partner with many cuisines.
